Police Log: Caller reports stolen identity

Manteca Police on Monday, June 29, received a call from a person on the 400 block of Greenbrier Avenue who reported an unknown subject using the person’s Social Security number for employment at three locations on the East Coast.

The subject also allegedly used the reporting party’s Social Security number in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

Manteca police received 608 calls between Wednesday, June 24, and Tuesday, June 30. The following is a sample of those calls:

Monday, June 29

• 7:19 a.m.: People were reported camping in the parking lot at Manteca Park Golf Course on the 300 block of North Union Road.

• 5:12 p.m.: A reporting party said a woman threw soup at her at Southside Park on the 400 block of Oregon Street.

• 10:27 p.m.: A man was chasing three juveniles who threw an object at his vehicle near the gym at East Union High School, 1700 N. Union Road.

Sunday, June 28

• 3:35 p.m.: Subjects were selling dogs in a parking lot on the 1300 block of Bass Pro Drive. They were using ponds to keep the dogs cool.

Saturday, June 27

• 10:02 a.m.: Police received a complaint about an illegal garage sale over two weekends on the 1200 block of Brookdale Way. New appliances were being sold.

• 2:17 p.m.: A taco truck was parked in a red zone in front of Calvary Church, 815 W Lathrop Road.

Friday, June 26

• 7:19 p.m.: A caller reported loud vulgar rap music coming from a vehicle in the driveway of a residence at Lode and Ore streets.

• 11:01 p.m.: A woman said she purchased a laptop from a subject in front of Wal-Mart, 1205 S. Main St., and when she opened it, it was a box of yellow pages.

Thursday, June 25

• 9:10 a.m.: A box of newborn kittens was found on the 900 block of West Center Street.

• 11:18 a.m.: Police received a call regarding the theft of a motorized shopping cart from Target, 280 Spreckels Ave.

Wednesday, June 24

• 2:17 p.m.: Police received a call about two young adult brothers arguing over chores on the 1300 block of Wimbledon Court.

• 3:59 p.m.: A pool cleaner admitted to stealing pool supplies on the 200 block of Munter Court.

• 7:48 p.m.: Two or three juveniles between 10 and 12 years old were reportedly 25 feet up in a tree at Colony Park, Cedar Way and Lexington Avenue, with no parental supervision.

• 8:24 p.m.: A long knife and a sword were found on the 300 block of Pestana Avenue.
